Vineyards

We chose Mas Vernet because it encapsulated all the peculiarities and the potential of the Terra Alta. We are in a pre-coastal area where the Mediterranean climate meets the continental climate of inland Spain: the temperature difference between day and night favours ripening; the scarce rainfall and the prevailing Garbí and Cerç winds enable a viticulture that respects the environment; the Panal soils (quaternary alluvial silty clay) are rich in calcium and chalk, making a home for the vines that survive in these extreme but fascinating conditions.

Our farming respects the balance of the vineyard ecosystem, planting cover crops that bring life to the soil. Our vineyard plantations are relatively dense, we control the balance of vegetation and grape production of each plant and practise integrated plant health management.
